An ancient quartz point with an overgrowth of elestial quartz on top of it. The quartz overgrowth did not quite complete the ring around the original point, leaving it exposed.

These old hematoid points are so old they make normal quartz look young. We're going to be calling them our 'Great Grandpa Quartz' because, really, they're pretty old.
